12 Tags of 2013 - April!

Good Morning!
I really enjoyed making this months tag for the 12 TAGS OF 2013, what with the gorgeous Patina effect background created by using various Distress Paints and combining the Paints with Stains on Seam Binding Ribbon to give an equally nice effect!
I also got the chance to try something I never had before, Clearly for Art Modelling Film! This is a clear plastic type sheet that once heated becomes flexible for just enough time for you to shape and mould it how you want, creating great 3D shapes! I have added a Close-up further down in the post so you can see just how it looks.

Okay so here it is, my version of this month's tag!

J&C Creations - A Mini Tag Book!

Good Morning!
This week it is all about Mini Books / Tags over at the  J&C CREATIONS BLOG.! I have decided to combine both of these and make a Mini Tag Book with some ATC Blanks that I have just trimmed the top off to turn them into tags and punched a hole through with my Crop - A - Dile.

To decorate the blanks I have opted to use Distress Paints. I just love their marble effect! To use them simply swipe the paints over the blanks & spray liberally with water. To help the marble effect you can hold each blank up and roate it on angles to get the paint to run, once your happy simply heat dry.

I have also added Silver Metallic Distress Paint onto the backgrounds for a second layer!

Once dry I stamped sentiment on the two outside tags and part of a floral stamp onto the centre tag.I have only embellished the tags very simply by adding eyelets to the holes at the top, dew drops and threading through some twine to hold them all together. Finishing off the twine with a floral charm!

INGREDIENTS -
Penny Black Sentiment Stamps & Tim Holtz 'Dried Flowers' Stamps
Dew Drops, Floral Charm & Twine
Ranger Glossy Accents & Liquid Pearls - Platinum Pearl

INKS USED -
Distress Paints - Brushed Pewter, Victorian Velvet, Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain,
Picked Raspberry, Broken China & Salty Ocean
Archival Ink - Jet Black

J&C Monthly Challenge - Nurturing!

Good Morning!
I hope you are all enjoying your weekends and the supposed brilliant weather that were meant to be experiencing today in the UK .... Highs of 19c are due today apparently in my area of Yorkshire, I must admit I am a little dubious right now what with the falling rain but we shall see!

However the wet weather can't dampen my mood as even though one of the Crafty Treats I ordered for myself didn't arrive in time for the weekend (I ordered on Monday Morning, naughty Postman!) my prize from the Paper Mill DID however arrive on Friday ..... and WOWZA what a prize indeed!

I think you will agree that there is a LOT of yummy card here! I can't stop looking at it all lol

Onto today's post and this is all about our new theme over at the J&C MONTHLY CHALLENGE BLOG which is Nurturing! It is completely up to you how you interpret this.

J&C Creations - Wise Words Tag!

Good Morning!
I'm back again today with a quick Tag for you all to try making yourselves! I have kept this tag simple with the sentiment as the main focus for this week's theme of Wise Words at the J&C CREATIONS BLOG.

Start off by stamping your sentiment in the centre of a blank tag using your chosen Distress Ink. Sprinkle over some Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Set and let cool. By Embossing the sentiment it will resist any other inks that go over the surface of it!

For the next part swipe some stains onto a craft mat and spray liberally with water. Swipe the tag through the inks along with blotting the tag into the ink to create a mottled effect like above.
Once your happy ink around the edges!

If you look closely you will see that to finish off the tag before embellishing I have stamped a floral design in Tattered Rose Distress Ink.  Repeat this three or four times in various positions on the tag. Remember you can easily wipe away the excess ink that gets onto the sentiment by gently wiping with a damp cloth!

Once your happy feel free to embellish the tag however you like, I have simply added some Dew Drops, a Floral Charm and Seam Binding Ribbon that has been dyed with Distress Stains!

I would like to enter this into the following challenge:
SIMON SAYS STAMP - APRIL SHOWERS AND / OR MAY FLOWERS
(There are flowers stamped on the background)

INGREDIENTS -
Tim Holtz 'Urban Tapestry' Stamp Set
Seam Binding Ribbon, Floral Charm & Dew Drops
Ranger Glossy Accents & Liquid Pearls - Ruby Red
