PBSC - Summertime, Change and Goodies!

Good Morning!
Today over at PBSC we are revealing lots of new things to you as there are lots of exciting things happening! Not only have we decided to give the Blog a little spruce up with a gorgeous new layout complete with matching blinkies! But we have now decided to change to a MONTHLY Challenge Blog giving you longer to play along with our themes! To kick start this all off we are launching it with a Blog Hop that not only includes all of the PB Saturday Design Team members but with some other great designers from Craftwork Cards & The Ribbon Girls! Mixed into the hop are LOTS of various prizes so you'd be crazy not to pop over there now and check it out ... right NOW! The hop will last all month until the first challenge ends so you have lots of time to join in with the fun.
Okay so this month's challenge over at PBSC is Summertime ... and the living is easy! We want to see lots of summery projects using Penny Black stamps. I'm not too keen on my card but I think it's because I don't normally use loads of bright colours on my creations ...

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

12 Tags of 2012 ... July!

Good Morning!
I have been wanting to show you this next picture ever since Monday but seeing this issue of Craft Stamper wasn't released until today (I found out that subscribers get their copies a few days earlier when mine landed on Monday lol) I decided to wait! I submitted a card a good few months ago for their 'Over to You' Feature and it has been published in the August Issue! Of course I'm not 100% happy with the card (mine is on the left) because I can see a few flaws but I do hope you all like it, you can also see the stamp I get as a prize in the top right corner ....

Even better is that I also submitted one of my Magnolia Cards for this Feature which has ALSO been accepted and will be printed later in the year around November time!!!

Onto today's creation and it is my take on the 12 TAGS OF 2012 ... JULY! By the 1 and only Tim Holtz!

Before you ask yes I did originally try the technique with Alcohol inks and the Red & Blue Colour Scheme but after 5 or 6 failed attempts in a row to create a result using the effect that I actually liked I decided to do it a little differently! Instead of blowing alcohol ink across gloss paper I sprayed some Perfect Pearls mixed with Re-Inkers to get a similar result! I think the colours used are my fave Distress Inks as I tend to steer towards them quite a lot!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
SIMON SAYS STAMP & SHOW - SPRAY, SPRITZ OR STENCIL
SIMON SAYS STAMP - TAGS OR ATC'S

These metal flowers are usually bare but I have added Dew Drops and Liquid Pearls to them to give them a little more sparkle!

INGREDIENTS -
Tim Holtz 'Papillons' Stamp Set
Core'dinations Cardstock
Perfect Pearls
Tim Holtz Word Bands & Sanding Block
Clock Charm from J&C Creations
Liquid Pearls - White Opal
Metal Flowers, Dew Drops, Safety Pin, Cheesecloth & Ribbon from my stash

INKS USED -
Distress Inks - Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers & Brushed Corduroy
Distress Re-Inkers - Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers & Shaded Lilac

Lastly have you seen the new products Tim has been sharing recently on his blog ??? They all look fantastic and I can't wait to get my hands on one of these dies ...

Thanks for popping by!
Join me tomorrow when I will be revealing some BIG news about PBSC!
HAPPY CRAFTING!

Creative Inspirations - Sketch!

Good Morning!
I'm back to Work Experience today so I won't get the chance to craft again until Sunday :( The last of my crafty stash that I was expecting arrived yesterday though which meant I got to finish my Tim Holtz Online Class! It's only taken me so long as I've had to buy a few products as I went along lol ...

Before you say anything I know that it is indeed another Christmas Card that I have to share today but don't worry it is the last one of the week! lol
There was a lot of last minute re-arranging for this week's challenge over at CREATIVE INSPIRATIONS as our Monthly Sponsor Handy Hippo let me know over the weekend that they were having to step down for a few months. However with them due to sponsor this week's challenge I was a bit stuck! Luckily my teamie Aunty Sue came to my rescue and suggested a possible sponsor who thankfully agreed! The sponsor MAYZY ART have some wonderful Digi Stamps and I have used one of them on today's card. Don't you think it is soooo cute with the little penguins ??!!!

You will be relieved to know that today I don't have a Christmas Card, I didn't want to force another one upon you so I have something bright & summery to share today! However it was like Christmas in my Craft Room yesterday when all this post arrived ... You can see that Millie is busy guarding it from any fellow crafters who try to sneak some away lol

With my new stash I also got to complete my Distress Ink Collection!!! All I need now is the Fall Ltd Edition Set but seeing I can't find it online anywhere I guess I shall be waiting a while for it :(

This week's challenge at PAPERTAKE WEEKLY is Anything Goes with the option of highlighting part of your image using either 3D Gloss or Glitter. I have chosen to use 3D Gloss to highlight my butterflies and create another Clean & Simple card.

Snowy Park for J&C Creations!

Good Morning!
Woohoo I have had another project of mine chosen in the Top 3 over the weekend, this time over at the Sir Stampalot challenge! They chose my Penny Black Tag that I made recently which was lovely to see ...

I really must be on a roll with Christmas Cards at the moment as I seem to be making quite a few recently, Let's hope I can keep it up though as we all know how tricky it is having to rush to make them at last minute!
This Christmas Card is the 3rd Project that I have made for J&C CREATIONS!
I actually bought this gorgeous stamp off a fellow crafter the other week, I'd had my eye on it for a while but never got around to buying it ... until now lol
This card isn't on the main blog so I have been a bit cheeky posting it today but I wanted to include it into the challenge below before it ended lol I shall let you know as soon it's posted over there!

I have used Distress Stickles - Rock Candy all over the main image as when it is heated up it creates a gorgeous sugary glitter effect which looks great when it shimmers in the light!
There is also Silver Pearl Embossing Powder over the embossed background paper to give extra shimmer.
There is also even more sparkle, yes more sparkle! lol on the snowflakes where this time I have used frosted lace Stickles on two of the snowflakes and created the other snowflake from cutting a snowflake from acetate, covering it in PVA Glue & topping with Twinklets Diamond Dust Glitter.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
WINTER WONDERLAND - MONOCHROMATIC

I tried to get a picture of the sparkle all over the image but it didn't photograph very well. Trust me though there is plenty of sparkle! lol

INGREDIENTS -
'Snowy Park' 3231K Penny Black Stamp
Sentiment Stamp from Funkykits
Tim Holtz Texture Fades 'Snow Flurries & Snowman'
Sizzix Originals Snowflakes Die
Silver Pearl Embossing Powder
Distress Stickles - Rock Candy
Stickles - Frosted Lace
Twinklets Diamond Dust Glitter
Silver Pearl Embossing Powder
Cheesecloth, Ribbon, Acetate, Twinklets & Black Dew Drops

INKS USED -
Archival Ink - jet Black
Emboss Ink Pad

Thanks for popping by!

Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry - Day 6!

Good Morning!
Today's post is in fact different to what I had initially intended to share with you all today, due to Mr Postman not delivering everything that he was meant to do :(
However here is what he DID manage to deliver if you fancy a peek, I didn't even know you could get these Markers in packs until I came across some on ebay! The gorgeous stamps I actually managed to buy off a fellow crafter who was selling them, so of course I snapped them up and obviously every crafter needs some more blank tags to craft on!

However seeing he didn't bring everything it did give me the chance to test run some Distress Markers with Mr Tim Holtz's Creative Chemistry Class! I hadn't had the chance to complete Day 6 as I didn't have any of the markers ... until now!

DISTRESS MARKERS - DAY 6

BLENDING WITH MARKERS

STAMPING WITH MARKERS

 INGREDIENTS -
Tim Holtz 'Papillon' Stamp Set
Butterfly Stamp by Stamps Away

INKS USED WERE FROM THE 'COUNTRY FAIR' SET IN THE PHOTO ABOVE -
Black Soot, Faded Jeans, Barn Door, Peeled Paint & Mustard Seed

Before I go I spotted this yesterday which was a wonderful suprise!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I shall be back tomorrow!
HAPPY CRAFTING!
