J&C Creations - Tim Holtz 12 New Distress Inks!

Good Morning!
This week it's all about the 12 New Distress Inks over at the J&C CREATIONS BLOG. You may remember that these were all seperate Limited Edition Sets of 3 ... however Tim decided to bring them all out properly as part of the collection last month!

I thought that for today I would create a bright and eye-catching tag using these colours for you all. Most people think of the Tim Holtz style as just brown and grungy but I wanted to show you that it doesn't just have to be like that!

To create the tag select 3 or 4 Distress Stains of your choice, spritz the tag your using quite heavily with water and simply swipe all of the stains over the top. Heat dry and repeat the process if your not entirely happy with how it looks. Ink around the edges with Distress Ink.
Next I used the large background Stamp from the Tim Holtz 'Valentines Silhouettes' Set inked up with a colour that would stand out from the background.
Complete the tag by cutting out some hearts from the Tim Holtz 'Mini Hearts Set' Movers & Shapers Die from Grungeboard and cover with Distress Stain. I finished them off by adding some Crackle Accents once they were stuck down. Using Distress Stain ink up some white ribbon and thread through the top of your tag.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

My Favourite 5 Cards of 2012!

Good Morning!
As you know on Christmas Day I shared my favourite 5 Christmas Cards that I had made this year. Well it is now time to share my favourite non-christmas cards! Of curse seeing I also started making Tags this year I had to throw a couple of them into my choices too.
Again my crafting friend DEBBY has also done this and is sharing some more yummy candy for one lucky blogger! Let's start!

First up is this Birthday card inspired by the Tim Holtz style which is fell in love with this year.
You can find the original post HERE.

Next is a collection of Tags from Day 5 of the Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry Class. I just love the effects on these! You can find a link to the blog post HERE.

This card was made using the C&S style and I added Glossy Accents to the butterflies to make them stand out just a little bit more. You can find a link to the blog post HERE.

Of course I couldn't miss Tilda out and here is a card I made using different shades of Sepia. Not my usual style but I love it! You can find a link to the post HERE.

Lastly I am finishing with a tag that I made for the 12 Tags of 2012 which you could play along with by Tim Holtz. Definitely not my usual style or colour combo but another favourite! You can find a link to the blog post HERE.

Choosing these 5 was a lot harder than you think but I hope I managed to give you a variety!
I shall be back tomorrow with another project for J&C Creations!
HAPPY CRAFTING!

J&C Creations - Spellbinder's D-Lites Magnolia Card!

Good Morning!
I hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas! As mentioned on Monday I was sharing creations using the new Spellbinder's D-Lites Dies over at the J&C CREATIONS BLOG. I'm back today with another card which for once isn't Christmas themed! I have used the Spellbinder's D-Lites Medallion One Die as a paper embellishment tucked under the main image. Seeing as using Doilies on your creations is very popular at the moment I thought this die would be a great alternative as the design is quite similar.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

My Favourite 5 Christmas Cards of 2012!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
I hope you are having a fantastic day and have got lots of lovely prezzies! For those of you that are like me and will no doubt still be popping on the computer I thought I would share my favourite 5 Christmas Cards that I have made this year! I will also be sharing my favourite non-Christmas cards on New Years Eve.
My friend Debby is also doing this, in-fact it was her that first gave me the idea to do this a couple of years ago! This year she is also offering some yummy candy until the 31st December for those who also join in!
So let's get started ....

I'm starting with this card as I don't usually like using scenery stamps as the main image, however I love how this one turned out! There is a link to the original post HERE.

I chose this card for my next choice as I love the vintage feel and the style of sentiment.
There is a link to the original post HERE

This card is the most recent that I have chosen, however I love how the stamps worked so well with the snowflake design, resulting in a quick and easy card that looks like it took a lot longer!
There is a link to the original post HERE.

I haven't used my Magnolia Character Stamps as much as usual this year, but I still love them and the thing I love most about this card is that she works so well with the white on white colour scheme, another thing I love. There is a link to the original post HERE.

I chose this for my last card as I love the elegant touch the stamp brings to it.
You can find a link to the original card HERE.

Before I go and leave you to enjoy the rest of your day I thought I would share a photo of the finished Christmas Cake ... seeing as I have shared photo's of it since I began making it! I have also made  Christmas Chocolate Log that you may recognise off the Christmas Bake Off Programme, I'l admit now that it isn't very photogenic! lol

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

J&C Creations - Christmas Place Cards!

Good Morning!
Today for the Table Decorations theme over at the J&C CREATIONS BLOG I have a quick and simple way of creating some place cards for your Christmas Dining Table. I know how time is rather sparse around Christmas time so I thought I'd make the cards quick and easy to make so that it won't take up too much of your time!

I started off by cutting a folded A5 Card Blank in half and then trimming a little off bottom. This gave me two place cards. Next up I ran some Grunge board through my Cuttlebug with the Tim Holtz 'Word Play' Die. Choose the first initial of your guest names to use on the cards.
Using a Snowflake Stamp that came free with the December Issue of Craft Stamper I stamped the image using Distress Ink towards to right of the card, sprinkling Holographic Embossing Powder over the top while still wet.

Cover your chosen letters with Black Distress Stain, Heat Dry, then press an Emboss It Ink Pad over the top following with some more Holographic Embossing Powder.

Finally attach the letters to the left of the Snowflake design using Ranger Glossy Accents and embellish the cards with Dew Drops.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Quick to Make Christmas Cards!

Good Morning!
Today I wanted to share with you some quick to make Christmas Cards that I made earlier this week. I went for the C&S style so that they were quick to make. In fact it took me the same amount of time to create all 4 cards as it usually would for me to make one! Each card took around 15 minutes to make and to make them cheaper to post I kept two without Dew Drops. I just realised whilst writing this post that Christmas will be over by this time next week! I can't believe it!

To create the cards I chose 2 different coloured Distress Inks and stamped a Snowflake using the second & third generation ink technique in the centre of some white card stock. Once dry I stamped my main image using Archival Ink over the snowflakes, finishing with a little bit of Glitter for some sparkle underneath each image. I added some Dew Drops to two of the cards and kept two without.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
ALLSORTS - OH CHRISTMAS TREE
WINTER WONDERLAND - WISH UPON A STAR

INGREDIENTS -
Tim Holtz 'Christmas Blueprints' Stamp Set
Black Foundations Card Stock
Twinklets Glitter & Dew Drops
Rangers Glossy Accents

INKS USED -
Archival Ink - Jet Black
Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac, Festive Berries, Bundled Sage, Milled Lavender & Old Paper
